All,

I encountered a little glitch while doing a show last night. I've never seen the switcher do this and neither have the engineers or our senior TD. It was towards the middle of the show and we were in commercial. I was setting up for a news cut-in. It's a profile transition key'd off of DSK 2 that wipes up to M/E 2. M/E 2 just has cg over camera set to dissolve to black clean (using the mix button, not the fade to black button). When I hit the auto trans button or the fader to fade to black clean in M/E 2, I'd have no problems. If I'd fade back up on the camera shot with cg in the M/E, the cg would dissolve in but the background would cut in. It didn't do this in any other M/E or downstream. After the show, I called up a different local E-mem and manually set up the same thing and all worked as it should have. So I just relearned the E-mem and all is/was well.

What I'm wondering is why this happened and if anyone has seen this happen before? If so, just out of curiosity, how can I replicate it?

Thanks in advance,

Allan
