This is a problem for the side flags that are programmed as off or on to each Sony8K input on (GUI page 7331.7).
DDR's clips now play from a sources that are both 16X9 and 4X3 in 1080i. The 4X3 was upconverted with black side flags.
The solution is send the devices to double the Sony8K inputs. The DDR's needs to arrive at the Sony8K as DDR 1SD & DDR 1HD.

Here is my dilemma: is there a way to create a virtual source and not need to wire additional physical sources?
I will try this to get the DDR sources to double:
Input map unused locations in the MAIN table to the original physical DDR inputs while maintaining the present map to inputs.
This would not need new wiring. The wiring would be on a virtual matrix.
The video would be on two main table inputs and AUTO SIDE FLAG aspect mapping would be different to each.

This issue has concerned me for some time, I started a thread here last December.
What was not considered is the ability to dissolve from wide to square and change the side flag off/on. Having a single source for both aspects makes a side flag off/on not functional for dissolves.
