For the last few days I have been sitting in front of Kalypso's, first a preseason football game and then a MLB series. I finally started playing with macros when I got bored on the football set day. By Sunday I had my commonly used effects attached to various keys on the panel. I had my VTR's "mapped" to key 1's bus. I even had ME2's mix button on Key1's bus. I barely had to move my hands. All was well.

Today, new series, different truck... UGH, a 4K!!! NO macros. I can't insert CG1 on ME3 with my left hand!!!

Count me in as a macro fan. Emems are good for a lot of things, but macros are nice when you're just doing something simple and don't want to worry about holds or timelines.

Recently, I too have discovered the beauty of Macros...from the simplistic auto trans to the complex multi ME effect setup during an already crazy live newscast, sometimes I wonder how we ever managed as TD's without Macros...some of my colleagues argue that Macros are laziness, and you must know the switcher. Well, I say to that you have to know the switcher (or should know) in order to program a macro...so if you haven't played with them...try it, you'll like it...Viva Macros!
