Cleanfeed on the DD35

Happy New Year Everyone!

Love the new Fourm.

Now on to the question:

Say I've got a font keyed in in M/E 3... and I want to "hop" downstream to go to the same source with the same font, on PGM/PST...

Try it... notice--- there is a bit of a "glitch" in the keyer transistion-- it fades out a little bit in the middle of your dissolve.

I had heard once that one might be able to fix this by adjusting the "cleanfeed" options for the switcher... I've played with it a bunch, and can't seem to get rid of this issue.

Wow, I remember this issue on a GVG 300, & a 200/250, it still exists on a newer switcher, with software upgrades. Wish I could help, but I've only been on the switcher once in my life, I'm just here to be critical. --- Dan

Hello All... Sorry for the delayed reply. Jochen= The INSTALL==> EBOX settings are set as you specified... As well as the settings Mike Ser suggested. However, the problem I'm talking about still exsists. Any more ideas? This seems to be happening soley with the ME3, Keyer 3. Thanks again for all of your help... We'll get it... somehow... Scotty A.

Hi Scotty, you have to deactivate also the cleanfeed 2. Install - E-Box - ME - PP : Output DP = FX Send (not Cleanfeed 2!!) Install - E-Box - ME - ME3 : Output DP = FX Send (not Cleanfeed 2!!) I hope this helps Best regrads Jochen

Hey Guys, Mike, thanks for the help... UNFORTUANTLY-- no luck... If I put M/E 3 Online, with Keyer One turned on, and then dissolve to PGM/PST with DSK-1 (same keyer source and properties)-- there is NO PROBLEM... Same with M/E 3 Keyer 2 to DSK-2... BUT... The problem seems to be with M/E 3 Keyer 3 to PGM/PST DSK-3. (Of course were talking about keyer 3 mode, and not the old "layered" mode). All of the settings are as you suggested in the Config=> Ebox=> M/E menu, for M/E 3, and PGM/PST.. So, stummped I am, and continue to be... Yeah, I hate this "bug"- I have to deal with this all the time- I believe this is an issue with Cleanfeed 2 but I'm not certain-it's been a while since I've tried to fight this one- for me, this bug only happens to me on ME-3 which is where I have Cleanfeed 2 installed- but doesn't happen on other M/E's. If you swap cards- the bug follows the card with Cleanfeed 2.

Hi Guys, So I finally got around to simulating this dilemma: M/E-3 is online with a lower third (M/E-3 key 1) over bars, on preset I have the identical source as the A-bus of M/E-3. Next transition is set to double-dissolve to bars with DSK-1. DSK-1 and M/E-3 key 1 have identical clip, gain, opacity, etc. In the Config-->E-Box-->M/E Menu: (For P/P) Operation Mode: P/P Cleanfeed Out: PGM out default Preview: Look Ahead Preview Look Ahead PVW: On In the Config-->E-Box-->M/E Menu: (For M/E-3) Operation Mode: M/E M/E intern out: PGM out default preview: Look Ahead Preview Look Ahead PVW: On Under these settings I was able to avoid the glitch in the keyer while dissolving. Hey Scotty, I've got the exact same problem. I've poked around looking for the solution, but no luck. The work-around I use is a Take down to PGM/PST with the same key instead of a Dissolve. It goes against everything that feels natural, but it seems to work - no dip in the key. I'm interested in hearing the real fix to this if anyone knows. Nathan Erickson KPHO Phoenix
