Hi, I was wondering can the Sony 8k's/9k's control multiple ME's from a one or two ME panel. I saw the xtdend DD 35 has a similar feature. Supposedly a big thing in Europe where space in the truck is a big deal. One or Two ME panel can control 4 ME's. Hit a button to change delegation..

thanks
Bill

You can even take the panel away, leave the switcher processor and DME running...... if an effect loop was going, it'll keep running with no panel. Also the change of which ME a small panel operates will not effect on-air in any way.

Yes, the 8000 and 9000 series lets you have up to 4 control panels on a single chassis. Assigning the physical M/E banks to a particular M/E in the mainframe is about a 5 second process in the setup menu. You can have all 4 panels assigned to same M/E if you wish, too. RE
Rick, So if I had a 1 or 2 ME panel, connected to a 4 ME frame I could farely easily bounce between ME's? thanks
Sure, piece of cake. It would take about 5-10 seconds to remap the panel. RE
Cool,... hopefully Sony will eventually have menu functions recorded by macros, then it would open up a lot more wacky stuff like this to happen quicker then 5-10 seconds. thanks Bill
