I will be working with an 8000 using VTR/DDR control without a separate controller. Does anyone know if there is a Mark In and Mark Out function on the switcher, or do I have to put timecode values in manually?

Thanks for any input,
Mike
Thanks Matt. I just worked with a 7K the other day, and it had mark in and out buttons, but I couldn't remember seeing them on an 8K. It's been a little while since I've been on one.
No problem, Mike! You know, it has been a while for me, too...I tend to see the 7K and the Kalypso more than the 8K... Good luck! Matt

Thanks for any input, Mike
Mike...you can "Mark In" and "Mark Out" from the panel (among many other things). On the section with the track-ball, you can delegate whether you are controlling the DMEs, the wipe patterns, or "DEV" levels. There should be a few different "DEV" (device) selections available to you...once you've defined your VTR or DDR in the set-up menus, you can jog using the "Z" ring, and also have full transport control right from that section. There should be some sort of an overlay that goes over the buttons near the track-ball that shows the machine control functions. Hope that helps... Matt
