While this may not be what you want to hear...in my 30+ years of TD'ing, I have never met, nor have I ever heard of anyone being a "certified TD". If you get paid for switching a show, then you're a TD - certified or not. Most people that I know who are TD's start out at a station (normally doing news), then progress to sports, and finally move into entertainment. Not that one type of show is "better" than the others, but the progression of pay tends to follow this line. TD's typically get hired for a job based on past experience, not a certificate. SONY offers operator's certification for the purpose of helping crewers find qualified TD's for SONY-product-based shows...but this is not a TD certification like you are asking about - I honestly don't think that such a "TD certification" exists.
