So I just got approved for an equipment upgrade (100k in total) to try to go live to drive, speed up the time to air, and reduce the burden on post. As it stands, post is doing all the keying and compositing from the isos, and we don't even "roll" on program. Someone put in an MX-70 to do all the keying and switching and a Deko 550 for all the graphics. I need to upgrade cameras, robotics, and bunch of other bits, so I figure I'll be lucky if I have 40k to devote to a new switcher. Many of the shows have multi-angle green screen with 3d skewed roll-ins that happen upstream of the chroma key so talent can stand partially in front of them. Any suggestions on a switcher that could accomplish this on a budget? THANKS!!!

It can do 4 channels of 3D DVE and 4 four chroma keys; although since you need the chroma keys and dve at the same time you'd be limited to 4 channels of DVE and 2 chroma keys because of the limited number of keyers. Since NAB is coming up you can talk to the manufacturers and see if you can get a good deal on one of their NAB demo units; they often sell them off after the show for good prices.. If you need HD though, you won't find anything in the 40k range.
