Using a Sony 9000 is it possible to re-assign the crosspoints on an ME (using the Xpt Tables) with either a Shotbox command or one of the Pref buttons on the touchpad?

What I would like to accomplish is to add some sources to the switcher without getting rid of the ones I already have. The reason for the shotbox command would be so that I can quickly switch back to the original crosspoints if I need them during the course of a show.

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Just discoverd that the other day too Curt. I'm told soon there will be an option to have the macro attach to the V/K Pair or the panel button.

One thing to be careful of. When you start changing your mapping/table assignments, be careful to check any macro attachments to any buttons you have changed. When you remap a button(s), any macro that was attached to that button goes away. Came across this the other day. Curt

Depending on your setup you can also do it with router snapshots. If your switcher can talk to your router, and the inputs are router assignable you can make different router snapshot and recall them as it fits you. mh

One thing that you can do is to use the menu macros - we were doing this at NAB this year. Menu macros will allow you to recall different tables. You then call up the menu macro with a panel macro & it's this panel macro that you either assign to the Utility Module - or else you can assign the panel macro to a timeline & this is what gets called up via the shotbox.

Hi guys, I did a search for this exact topic. Is this now possible with the latest software on and 8000? I'm sure I worked on a job recently where the operators were recalling different xpt assign tables using the shotbox. Is it possible to do with menu macros or do menu macros not work in the Eng menus? Cheers offshaw

The 6.0 software & later has the additional tables. Older software allowed just the 4 + Main that you're seeing.

Thanks. I have another quick question though: I only saw 4 tables (5 if you count the Main): where are the others located at?

Todd[/quote] No you can't have a shotbox or prefs button change crosspoint assignments. However, since there are 14 crosspoint assign tables, you can easily make a new table with your different assignments, then just go into XT assign->Table assign and change the table assignments for all the rows in the switcher atthe same tie. It should only take maybe 10 seconds. RE
