First, my questions about the 9000:

How do I to take a "key output" from an ME, like going to layered mode on an ME of the Kalypso?
How can I pair aux buses, so that I can take video and key and feed it to an external device?

8000G questions:

Do we know if the "basic DMEs" on the keyers will be keyframable?
Are there changes to any pieces of the panel to accomodate some of the new features?

Thanks in advance...
Matt

We can always count on you, Rick! Thank you for the info. I had suspected that the ME key pvw would be the way to go, but I wasn't sure if I was overlooking something. Also, thank you for the added info on the "G". I'm already thinking of ways to change the way we do things to take advantage of the new features!! Oh, do you know if there is an Excel template for button labeling? Some of the other TDs in my shop would like to label the "shift" side of our aux bus crosspoints, and I don't want to see any tape on the panel!! Many thanks, Matt

Set the KEY PREVIEW output to be KEY mode, then set each of the keyers to LINK. Then, set up the V/K mapping table to use that M/Es KEY PVW output as the key signal and, voila, you have the ability to do what you want. There is exactly one change to the panel to accomodate the resizers..... if you look on the upper right-corner of the Keyer module you will see a blank button next to KEY 4. That now says "RE-SIZER". Press that and it turns the resizer on for the delegated keyer. Just as easy as assigning a high-end DME channel to a keyer. RE
