Hi Guys,

Just wondering, has anyone got the sidepanel software working on Windows Vista and connected to a DD35?

I tried doing this on a overseas gig (I am in Australia), found the network OK but could not load up the sidepanel software on the Vista laptop. I got an error saying something like "control panel not found" or something to that effect. Can't really remember as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Also, locate the .exe file for the sidepanel software. Right Click on it and go to the properties. In there, there's a compatiblity tab, set it to run compatible to XP. Also there's a checkbox to "run program as administrator"- check that. If that doesn't work you can try compatible with NT/2000. Edit: Oh yeah, there's also a free program from Microsoft called virtualpc that will allow you to install XP on your vista box and run it kinda like apple bootcamp. If you have an extra copy of XP laying around you're all set.

Hi David, is there a firewall in Vista? There is one in XP and you need to turn that off when in the mixer network. cheers Rolf Brisbane... nice!

Hi Rolf, I Live in Brisbane. I travel OS to do some golf gigs and basically any work I can get :) The reason I am using Vista is that I up graded my laptop and it is easier to transfer files (ie graphics) from my PC when connected via sidepanel than using USB keys and other forms of transfer devices. Sure I can get around it by using the panels sidepanel, but I like the flexibility of having a physical keyboard connected to type on. I have got my Vista laptop talking to the network (a feat in itself if anyone has played with Vista) and I can see the IP addresses of the panel and the running sidepanel. Dave

New Pcs probably now come out with Vista. Haven't heared from anyone trying it so far. Sidepanel runs on 95b, 98, ME, NT4.0, 2000 and XP. I would check the IP settings, if you are in the mixer network then you set your IP addresss fixed and don't obtain it from a DHCP server. hope that helps. Rolf Grzibek PS I am currently in Sydney, David, where are you?

Hi Dave, Why would you need to run the side panel on Vista? 98 or 2000 runs fine on the DD35. What advantage do you hope to get from running Vista? Brian
