Hi all,

we just upgraded our 8000A software from 5.21 to the 6.11 software... Everything seemed to work will until i reloaded the frame memories i had stored on the hard drive.. When i loaded them in, the ThumbNails looked perfect, but when i would put them into a channel and use them on the switcher, either as a crosspoint or keyable source--- there were two of the same still basically ghosted together on the screen.. real ugly.. .

I tried to load stills in from a memory stick and they came out the same messed up way.. Even wierd'er when I would freeze off new stills, THOSE THUMBNAILS would be all messed up (black holes in them),, yet if I used them as crosspoints or keyed them, they came out FINE..

Very wierd--has this happened to anyone else? do u think that there is a problem with the new software or do i have to reconvert the old still or something?? They're all HD so that shouldnt be a problem i think..

ANy help id really appreciate ...thanks

Did you do it locally or did Sony do it? the reason I ask is, some major upgrades have more than just software to load. There is also something called FPGA data that must be loaded separately, If software gets loaded andn the FPGA data does not, it could be real bad. RE

Our upgrade from 5.0 to 6.1 also went without any problems. Haven't loaded the 7.1 yet.

We went from 5.2 up to 7.11. We had no FM problems. I was told we didn't have to resave them they were the same file format. The FM menu structure obviously was a huge change. I assume you checked the pairing and the V/K when you grab stuff and do a recall? Take a look at the key FM memories direct (even one's)

There are a bunch of different software items that are loaded during an upgrade. I have no proof of this, but I'm wondering if maybe a file didn't get loaded properly. The change from V5 to V6 was significant for the frame memories. There were major changes in that department. RE

Anytime you do an upgrade you need to load your data, then re save all your data so it is saved correctly in the new version. I was told this by one of the main engineers at sony. that should fix your problem.
