I would like to build a macro that feeds our CG into Fame Memory 5 and then grabs it. This is to hold locator supers for 2 way boxes so that the CG is free to do names, etc.

How can I control the frame mem via a macro.

If we had a Kalypso, I would perform all of the touch screen functions as I record the macro and VOILA! a working macro.

Sony don't seem to have this functionality yet.

Any suggestions?
You can take it one step farther and assign "FM 1 Freeze" to one of the prefs buttons and then build that button into a macro. The only thing it won't do is save the freeze for you. I use a two macro sequence, one to grab the frame, another to call up the framestore menu page. If you have the Auto-save option selected for the framestore you can just tap the Framestore selection button (i.e. where you would select FM1/FM2, FM3/FM4, etc.) then the switcher will auto-store the grabbed frame (naming it auto001 or something like it). I would love to see menu macroing to make this all one macro. Does anyone know if the newest revision (7.1?) is available for an original MVS8000? Jesse
V7.1 has a new feature called FREEZE & STORE. If on, every time you freeze something it automatically creates a file name and stores it for you RE

Matt, You are correct. v7.1 has menu macros, which are a separate group of 99 menu manipulation macro registers. These are independent of the 99 panel macro registers. The nice thing is that the menu macro can be inserted into a panel macro. Mike

At this point, menu functions or flexipad operations aren't able to be macro'd. It is my understanding that 7.10 will have the ability to macro menu functions. We've got 7.0 on our 8000G, and it isn't in the release notes and I haven't tried macroing menu functions yet to see if it is an "Easter Egg". One idea that might get you close is to use your "user prefs" buttons on the menu display ... at least you can make a shortcut to the FM Edit menu so that you are a few steps closer. You might also try a search on this forum ... I think that I remember reading something about one of the guys getting his engineers to wire a GPI loopback so that he could do as you described via GPI trigger. Good luck, Matt
