Client uses USB/serial adapter to upload Lance cues to TDC-100. Everything looks like the transfer went OK but no cues were loaded. We repeated the transfer at least three times, no joy. Engineers say that they verified cable path back to the Lance frame. I had no issues other then the transfer.

Oh, we also tried a different USB/serial adapter, no luck either.

Bill, I don't know when I will see that truck or show again. One of the joys of being a freelancer. After reading your post I now think it was a Windows serial issue and not a Lance issue.

I just wanted to add on other note - the Cueman lists created with TDC version 2.0 and versions 3.x should all be compatible. The MENU settings will not be, since menu items sometimes change with different versions, but the cue lists should be ok. Mike, regarding your upload/download problem, if the COM port assignment isn't the problem it's possible that the RS-232 driver in the TDC-100 has failed. Check the com port stuff first, and let me know if that doesn't fix the problem. Bill

Hey Mike, I have heard about a similar problem in a few previous cases. The problem previously has always been that the USB/Serial adapter driver wasn't set for the same COM port as the Cueman application. The program should abort in that case, but some of the serial drivers seem to return all zeros instead of a 'NO COM' error. A test for this seems to be to ask for the TDC firmware version from the Cueman 'Help' pulldown menu. It will not work if the above problem exists. You can check the USB/Serial adapter com port assignment using Windows Device Manager. Just make sure it's the same as that selected in Cueman, and you should be ok. The only reason I can think of as to why you don't get the COM error in such a case is that the serial adapter driver is fooling Cueman into thinking that valid data is being received when it's really all zeros. Hope this helps..... Bill

File was created on Game Creek Discovery, tried using it on GCV Olympic. Olympic has at least version 3 on it. I do not know about Discovery, didn't create the file.

Version 2 firmware / Version 3 cue file, or vice versa?
