Background- We used the same truck Friday and Saturday. Friday as I left I confirmed with the EIC that I was returning the next day so he shouldn't load the truck defaults. I planned on modifying the setup and rebuilding my E-Mems. Software was 12.0.4

When I got to the switcher it looked as if someone loaded the truck defaults, engineering said that they did not, no one else said that they touched the panel. I then tried to load the previous show from the hard drive and I was able to navigate through the menus but I was not able to change directories on the SHOW file menu. I was able to load from a thumb drive. I then deleted several stills that were leftover from the previous show, no apparent issues. I then re-named sources and started building timelines and other E-Mems. When I went back to the SS menu, the stills I deleted were back and I was unable to save any new stills. I believe the error was "invalid file name" or something like that. (Unfortunately I tossed my notes during strike.) We rebooted the SS and still no joy, we then rebooted the complete switcher and the SS came back normal but all of my E-Mems and timelines were gone except one or two.

After rebuilding everything the switcher behaved normally the rest of the night.

Hey Mike, I have this problem on our Kalypso quite often. It seems to go back to the default every other reboot / startup. Unlike your problem, I just load the show and user prefs (Currently Ver11.1 - upgrading this week finally!!) and get back to normal. I then load a EMEM file for my M/E's to get back to where I was. The other issue with the SS is as Yiper stated and I am sure you know, ongoing. It can be a royal pain.

The SS has never been reliable. even using it in a studio setting I get that same error message. GV said that it's a refress issue with the SS. We always have to reset the SS frame to force it to behave and drain the SS ram. I think you had 2 seperate problems at one time.
