Has anyone worked with one of these before? I have an opportunity to do a job on one and being new I would hate to pass it up, what are the similarities to a GVG 3000, 4000 or Kalypso? Thanks

I did some software testing on them when they 1st came out. As I recall, you can incorporate your knowledge of other switchers & you'll get by just fine. Think GV 200 with 1 keyer row delegating 2 meyers. Think Ampex Century about a 3rd keyer not tied to the keyer rows (I think). Think Zodiak or SONY in that each keyer has its own DVE. Think SONY in that you can do DVE transitions on the A/B buses. Think Ross in that it's a fairly simple interface but can do some moderately sophisticated effects. The DVE's have some real nice particle effects that are worth checking out. Bob Crites, who sometimes frequents this site, used to be the product manager on the 9000. If you can find one of his old postings maybe you can contact him to get more info.
