Full Additive Mix

We just installed a Kayak HD replacing a Kalypso and we're trying to emulate some of our old transitions.

One transition that we used a lot was a white flash. Very simple on the Kalypso.

In the manual for Kayak (What a fine piece of work that is.) it talks about a Full Additive Mix. OK, what menu is that hiding under or is a to be named in a later software upgrade?

Thanks,
Scott

Nope, no trucks here have a Kayak (yet). A few in-house video board shows have 'em, so I've been working the Oakland A's board show for... hmmm... this will be my 13th season, they upgraded to a Kayak during the Raiders season. --- Dan

Dave, if things are like where Dan is Fox will travel the Big Ten Network trucks to do single feed baseball in some markets. That is how I got trained on the Kayak, four hours of training before an MLB game... Great concept.
I'm not in front of a Kayak right now, hope to not be anytime soon, but I know I will be for baseball season coming up... I think you can assign the PST Black button to go through another source, &/or white. You can also set it up so that one pull of the fader bar will start on A source, go to white, then to B source (typical PST Black requires 2 fader bar moves for that). I can't remember where, I think it's in UPK (user programmable keys), it might only be on the Side Panel, but it might also be on the internal menu, again I can't remember. --- Dan
Hey Dan. What baseball will you be working that will have a Kayak? - Dave

Yes we did use the USER TRANS. Thanks for the tip Mike. I'll try it when I get in in the morning.

ScottMc, how did you do a flash on the Kalypso? Did you use one of the USER TRANS? Try doing this: REC MACRO, take to the cross point where white is, then set the auto trans for say 12 frames, set a delay of say four frames, then hit the auto trans button. I think this is how we did flashes on the DD35 when I used one. (Sorry, I haven't seen one in years, doing this from memory.)
