GVG 3000 M/E's in 'Locked' mode?

Hi all. One of our TD's had a problem with the GVG 3000 the other day.

He went to call up a register on an M/E, and the register light lit quickly and then went out. Not burned out mind you, just went out. After this happened, he said he couldn't do anything with the M/E.

The register he was calling up on the M/E was a register used on a daily basis.

He had to reset the board, and was told by someone that the M/E could have been, "locked"

Can anyone explain this?

If it's a communication issue, then you may not have to reset the whole switcher...if you lift the panel, you'll see that each M/E board has its own reset button and status lights (showing communication). You might be able to just press the reset on the specific M/E board rather than reset the whole switcher.

Doubt it had anything to do with the emem or any kind of locking. Our 3000 does this on M/E3 from time to time. Seems to just be a glitch that loses communication. I don't have a workaround, I just reset the switcher. Is there anything interesting in the switcher's log?

If you call up the register does it have an "L" before the register number? This should not effect recall though.
