We have a Kayak HD that has a bad CUT/PAUSE button. We've been told by the factory that the whole board has to be replaced to fix it.

A couple of questions.
1. Are they complete fools for making a board unservicable and two will we lose any of our saved programing?

Thanks
Scott

The more I use this switcher the more I miss our Kalypso. I have another question. We we're told that it was less expensive to buy the Kayak than upgrading our Kalypso to HD. How much smoke was being blown?

One of the MTVG engineers said that they had to replace the panel on one of their Kayaks. Who ever designed the panel must have never seen a real studio or truck in use.

Yes, and no. I've seen a couple of Kayaks that have buttons that don't operate right. One "takes" if you breathe on it, another won't "release". They feel a lot less sturdy than those on a Kalypso.
