Our station just got a Ross Vision switcher and I'm hoping someone on this forum might be able to clear up a vague spot in the manual. When using 2 channels on a FLY KEY, there is supposed to be a way to manipulate the channels together. The old Synergy 4's object builder was pretty obvious in letting you select 1, 2 or 01 (for combining the two channels), but I can't figure out how to do that on the Vision. Also, any comments on the Vision in general would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. When I finally figured out the "double punch" thing, I felt really stupid. However, it didn't accomplish what I wanted, which was to build a slab or cube effect. Unfortunately, "Object Builder" is a feature of the Synergy that isn't available on the Vision yet. The Ross rep just finished his visit, and he said we should tell the techs at Ross to add that to an upgrade. I guess that's the good thing about Ross.
Hey SLC-TD, so whats the SLC stand for? St Louis Cardinals?
And yeah, SLC is for Salt Lake. As a Green Bay native and Brewer fan, I had to cringe a little thinking my screen name could be mistaken for the Cards.

SLC-TD, the Vision switcher is definitely a step-up from the Synergy switcher. Operationally is a bit different, as most of the menu is access through the touch panel, which once you get used to it, it'll be a lot easier to toggle through stuff. The menu tree is still pretty much the same, so if you're used to a Synergy, the Vision will be easy to get used to. One of the best features is to be able to grab and record stills from any source aux buses, and the ability to be able to network the switcher so that you can drag and drop stills from another computer. Sorry couldn't help you on modifying the key, as I haven't used a Vision with a S&T card. But if you're trying to modify two fly key sources, locking both sources up is the same. Punch the function key twice quickly to lock them (F6? on the touchscreen). You can adjust the press rate, by the way. Hope this helps!

Hey SLC-TD, so whats the SLC stand for? St Louis Cardinals? anyway, go back to the list of forums and scroll down about ten forums to the one listed as "Ross TD's". Email Brian Ford and Les directly. Theres a few of us on here that are Ross Tds and try to help each other. They seem to be the lead with any and everything Ross and I would assume if any of us here have used the Vision panel it would be one of them. Most of us that I know of have only used the Synergy. Hope it works out. How do you compare the Vision and the Synergy so far?
