Just wondering if some station still use a blue screen. That is what we use, which I prefer but I'm just curious about other places.

We use a green screen, which is actually a roll of green paper we can retract. As the paper wears we just cut and attach a 1x1 at the bottom for weight. It works fine and allows us to use the space for other things. Green also works best since we often use 42? plasma monitor with a graphic in front of the chroma key wall. It is an NBC station in San Diego that uses a lot of blue in their graphics package.

Ours are all green, we have a weather wall and a traffic wall both painted wood and a chroma window that was used way back when the set first went into use, that window and one other (that I've not even heard of being used are roll up with other graphics when desired. Personally I like the look of monitors on set - When done properly - it can look really good.

We use both blue and green that are on roll-up's. No particular pref - both look good. We're on a Sony 8K, prior to that-GVG 300 <> :) The newer technology allows us to clean up a LOT more stuff. Sample images: Don

We still use a blue screen at our station, with a Grass 4000. Pretty clean key... most of the time. Todd
