I'm having difficulties setting up GPI control to a Spencer Technologies' Newsstore-X. What physical wiring do I need to do to accomplish this? And what settings do I need to configure on the Kalypso? I've contacted Spencer tech and their customer support is very "iffy." They've pointed me to their product's specs sheet on their website (), this is all the information on external controls:

CONTROLS:
GPI, RS-422
DNF, GVG PBus (options)

I'm clueless here, can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

Wow, this is way above my head, but I will point it out to the EIC. Thank you very much.

I know you didn't ask this question ... but I use these breakout modules so often I just wanted to share: ? ? These breakout modules make it extremely easy to change out wiring, especially when you are working with 50 pin connectors. Matt

The Newstore should have either some sort of DB multi-connector on the rear, so a series of connectors where you can attach the GPI IN wiring. In theory their installation manual should have the necessary wiring diagram & GPI trigger list. If in doubt of what GPI does what, take a 6" piece of wire with both ends stripped...start going down the various GPI connectors & short them together...you'll quickly learn which spigot is the common & which is the trigger. From the Kalypso side, the Install Manual definately does have the wiring diagram for the DB connector that's on the back of the frame. Because GPI's are just contact closures, they are "stupid", meaning that the Kalypso doesn't care which GPI OUT does what...it'll all be up to the connectors on the Newstore. Going out of the Kalypso will just be 2 wires for each GPI - there will be no need for any voltage like there is on the Kalypso input GPI side. Then it's just a matter of building the various GPI triggers into your timelines.
