I am trying to build an EVS wipe into the Sony 8000 switcher using a macro. I want to create a simple wipe transition under the effect, but I don't know how to tell the macro to set the transition time to the exact number that I need for the wipe to work. Does anyone know how to do this?
THANKS

I would recommend this Save the simple wipe as a wipe snapshot on that ME. Then in offline macro edit Transition type (event 26), then select ME and wipe recall wipe snapshot pause 1 or 2 frames auto trans XX frames (input timecode, dont use current) in the next macro line if you do a continue instead of event, change trans back to what you normally use if you want (looks like it will do 2 auto trans but it will work to put trans rate back) at end add to macro after a long pause trans type back to mix off course in here you can add disk file load and device plays for your EVS, or recall device timeline and device xx timeline runs, etc in this macro
Thanks, I did this, but when I used that method, the macro only does a mix transition. How do I program it to do a wipe transition and to specifically assign a wipe? Do I have to tell it to call up a specific snapshot?
If you press wipe for the ME before you hit auto transition it will program to do a wipe. However setting up snapshots is by far the better solution.

You can either do this by pressing the TRANS RATE button for the M/E that you want & enter the time on the keypad/flexi-pad, or you can do this by using OFF LINE EDIT... Select EVENT: M/E AUTO TRANSITION & enter the M/E & time value.
