How do I reset my default for when I double tap the 'CLR WORK BUFR' for my DME. At the moment it sets the selected DME channels to something next to useless, when I'd like it to make the DME channels fullframe no crops etc.
Cheers

Go to menu 7315 initialize menu, highlight the DME line and select "all clear" then execute. This will reset the dme and put it in factory default. Now you can go back and re-define initial status.

Now, I know how to reset the DME's default setting for the Clear Workbuffer button, but recently on one of our mixers the DME settings have been eratic and I've been resetting the DME by eye to basic fullframe no rotate, no nothing etc. Now I've been trying to reset it more accurately, but when I enter the values using the numeric keypad, ie Locate X,Y and Z to zero, the mixer believes that 3/4 rotated is zero!?! Should I reset to factory? Reset the DME? Cheers Si

You want to set the initial status. Go to ENG Setup/System/Startup (or page 7314). You should see 3 things listed there... PNL, SWR, and DME. Highlight DME. Now you have a choice under "Startup Mode" between running in Resume or Custom Mode. Make sure you're running in Custom Mode. Also make sure "Setup" and "Initial Status" are set to User. Now set your DME's to the desired default location. Highlight the "DME" line in that menu. Now hit the "Init Status Define" button. This should take care of you. This is how you also set the CLR Work Buffer for your M/E's as well (though they fall under PNL). I've always been told that any time you make a change to to the way the switcher is set up, it's a good idea to go in and reprogram the initial status and setup define for both the panel and switcher. Hope that helps. -Allan
