We have just installed a 8000 after many years with a DD35.. Ive been using the PST Color mix as a white flash effect. The problem i have is that i can change the color to white but this resets to default automatically after use... Could anyone advise on how i can set white to be the default color or alternatively a better way to achieve this effect easily...

Thanks in advance

Save your color background generator and map white to a x-point. White is an internal source on the MVS. Build your snapshot for the flash effect, and then remove the white x-point if all the x-points are in use on your bus.

I build a white flash with a wipe, soft edges, I think I do a mix with another wipe but could probably just do a soft circle or something. Anyway once you have the wipe build nicely. Save it as a wipe snapshot, and then build a macro that recalls, wipe snapshot, selects wipe as transition, changes rate to XX frames, then pauses xx frames, and put it back to mix. End up with one button press to wipe flash.

I think turning one time enable off in the Preset Colour Mix configuration menu (I think its 7334.1). I'm not 100% sure if this will hold the colour you select, it will mean however once you use the transition it won't automaticly go back to the previous transition type. I'm not at the switcher at the moment to experiment.
