I am trying to create a trigger dissolve use a 2ME Kayak DD. I would like to dissolve what is on the preset bus onto the program bus, but not sure what i need to do. I know it can be done, i've seen it. Is it a macro? I looked at one built and the trigger says it's a CMD. not sure what that is. Anyone who can help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Here is what i have done so far: Hit the Make button. Keys light green. Hit learn and select the input i want to record to then enter. Learn button blinks. Then this is where i go wrong i think: I just do a normal dissolve on the switcher between 2 sources. once i am done i hit the learn blinking button. I can't recall the action up thats about where i am stuck. my main goal is to get a logo to fly across screen as the the live video behind it dissolves. Am i close or way off. thanks
Close but certainly no cigar. There are several ways to do what you want. Every TD approaches their transitions differently based on how they wish to cut their show. Some use source holds some use macros. What it seems you are trying to accomplish is the latter with macros. You can insert a series of macros into a timeline to do what you want at a specific time. Your macros should be previously determined and assigned in the panel. It's a little more complicated that just making the marco and playing them, which is where the DD language comes into play. When you begin the build the timeline it can get little confusing because of the DD way of doing things especially when editing. When a macro is placed into a timeline it essentially becomes a event or command if you will. Nothing should be affected but the things you wish to control in the transition like, DDR Cue up, USER WAIT, DDR Key, DDR Play Trigger, USER HOLDS, Auto Trans and/or Cut, a loop if you choose and any source you wish changed during the sequence. Using this type of method will get you the desired effect you are trying to create. Good luck and have fun.

If the buttons aren't broken and functioning properly you can program your macro right from the panel, you don't have to use the side panel. Just select MAKE, then HOLD down REC and the button you want to put the macro to (it should flash). When you are done press that "same" button again (the flashing should end) and you are done.

Thats what i kind of figured. Heres a dumb question, but not really. I pretty much a nubie when it comes to this kayak, how do you build a macro? Do i have to use the side panel? Any starter points would be much much appreciated.

It's a macro! the CMD is a command line which is DD language.
