TDC-100 question...looping.

I'm using A/B channels on the TDC-100 to playback video elements in onset monitors, but can't get the 10 min clips(s) to loop.
When I hit "FCN -> Play" it does say "Loop" as it plays back, for both A and B channels, but at the out point it stops dead.
So what step did I miss, because I thought that's all I had to do.
PBUS switch is "off" on the Lance, switcher is a Zodiak.

Thanks in advance.

I was on Danny Herb's small truck at the time and the whole looping thing turned out to be quite an adventure. Danny was the only one who seemed to be able to build one and get it to run successfully.

Bill, this was years ago but something that has been stored in my brain. As for where the hardware is now, who knows.

Mike, If the TDC/FFV combination stops looping at any time, something is wrong. I've looped those decks in the shop for days at a time. There is nothing that SHOULD cause the loop to stop. Something odd is going on. If you can give me the specifics of the FFV (machine type and software versions) I'll try to investigate. Sony has resisted implementing Odetics commands because these extensions weren't sanctioned by Sony when they were first created, as I understand it. Almost everyone else supports them. Bill

ACK, Sony DDR.... When Comcast bought their HD truck the TD was to have at least two channels of some Sony DDR for our use...... The company agreed on buying a TDC-100 in probably three to five minutes..... then the bad news came from Sony, "forget it, it will not work like a Profile". I also found this out with a TDC-100 and a Fast Forward, there is a finite number of times a clip will loop, before one device stops the looping. I had a spare Lance and FF in one truck several years back, needed several backgrounds on loops at any time. I recorded the BG's and just told the TDC-100 to loop the clip. After about 60 or so minutes the loops stopped. I just hit stop and FN PLAY again and things were good for another hour or so.

Thanks Mike. Sure enough the Sony didn't support it. I've been spoiled by not having to think about it for awhile and got lazy

Mike's question is right on - the ddr must support Odetics protocol for the TDC-100 to be able to control it in the looping mode. From your description, it sounds like it doesn't. Protocol may be a setup/config option. Make sure it's set for Odetics or Sony/Odetics. The FFV Omega protocol is called 'BVW-75', but it really is Sony/Odetics. BL

What DDR? Does it support looping?
