Good Day,
I recently bought a used BVS-3100, hooked it up, pictures look good, but when I switch or used the fade transition, the video signal rolls vertical, i know this switcher dont need an external sync. even when i used the preview it still rolls. Can someone assist me with the manual or even the service manual.

Is there is setting I need to go into adjust the sync problem I am having.

Thanks,
Rodney.
same problem, this switcher has internal sync. Can I get a manual?
Rodney... Just stumbled upon a link for a manual for the BVS-3100, but it looks like there is a small fee for the PDF file: It isn't on Sony's "discontinued list", so there might always be the possibility that one of your regional SSEs or one of the Service Techs might be able to help you out. Hope that helps! Matt

So, you still must have everything timed to the switcher. As for a manual, you'll probably need to contact Sony for that. Although that switcher is so old it's very llikely they have no support for it any more. RE

Thanks, Rodney. rodneyghany@hotmail.com
If memory servers, the BVS3100 is a composite analog switcher. It most definitely needs external reference and all the sources going into the switcher will need the same reference and must be timed in accordingly. the problems you are describing are a perfect symptom match of the switcher (and its sources) not having proper reference.
