So I ran into an interesting little "problem" on an 8k today. Wondering if anyone else has seen it. I was having a problem with P/P timelines disappearing.

Just a little background... I loaded a setup already on the switcher and manually blew out all snapshots, effects, macros, and shotbox registers.

So I highlighted Pbus and P/P, double tap the dot to find the next open effects register (1) and recalled it. I'd build my timeline and when I'd hit save and enter, the Pbus timeline would save but everything on the P/P timeline would go away and I'd have 0/0 keyframes on that level. It didn't always do it... just sometimes. I thought maybe I was hitting save and then enter too fast so I slowed down. I'd give it a couple seconds from the time I hit the save button until I hit enter and it still occasionally did it. Once the timeline successfully saved, it was as happy as could be all day long. Frame was an original 8k. Panel was running 7.2 and the switcher was running 5.43 I believe.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Allan

There are definitly some timeline issues that I have seen since 5.xx right on up to 7.11 with timelines. I have had on occasions rewind actions get lost, some DME timelines don't load. In either case you cannot re-load from original effect. You can delete keyframes it says 0/0, but effect still runs. I have found you can load to a new effect # and works fine. But not at the original effect #. The rewind action bug has been around a while wonder if it will ever be fixed.

I've alse seen this happen on my system. I start by rebooting just the panel which is where all the data is actually stored. If that doesn't clear up the problem I move to rebooting the frame. Usually a panel-only reboot fixes it for me.

[quote="AJR"]Matt... I work on a G everyday for my normal gig. We're on 7.2 now but we were running 7.11 for a good year and I never saw that happen. It was really quite annoying. Right around the same time that this stopped happening, we went to a building-wide power conditioner ... not sure if we were were getting dirty power and that could have been the cause, or what? We started to think that it could have been happening after a long up-time, since we don't reboot often ... and like you said, they just turned on the switcher in your instance, too. Been wanting to upgrade to 7.2, but it never seems to be the right time... :-)

MAXEIRP... it was in fact HD6. Matt... I work on a G everyday for my normal gig. We're on 7.2 now but we were running 7.11 for a good year and I never saw that happen. It was really quite annoying. Allan ... I'm on an 8000G with 7.11 on the frame and panel. I had something similar happen, where ME-1 timelines would seemingly vanish. While the effect was still there (I could run it), the GUI showed no keyframes in my timeline (the far left column would say 0/0 like there was nothing there). After a reboot, the problem went away, only to reappear a few weeks later. One of our engineers suggested that perhaps there was a memory leak that caused this to happen, and giving everything a fresh start seemed to be the band-aid. A lot has changed since I've last seen this happen ... still on the same version of software, but haven't seen this pop-up in months.

v7.2 menu/panel and v5.43 (MVS8000/MVE8000) is a supported combination. Allan, you wouldn't happen to be on the HD6 truck?
