Touring Video in Burbank has the 8000 in a nice expando. everything is good about the truck but they could use better chairs for those long days and nights!

You should see E!'s red carpet shows. We "outgrew" Patriot and Yankee Clipper.

I used SDTV's HD Expandolink back in August. They were running 7.11 on the panel and 5.42 on the switcher. But back then, they were still putting the finishing touches on the switcher. Not sure how much has changed since then.

Some of the show I could get away with a smaller truck, but the grammy pre-show I do every year I'd need a bigger one. 10 cams, 3 EVS, and more producers than you can shake a stick at.

How big of a truck and show are you looking for? If you need a small truck to take feeds and do just a few cameras, SDTV's new HDLA Expando with Uplink has an 8000. I'm not sure what version of software they're running, but I know you can't attach a macro into a timeline in that truck (got caught on my first 8000 show).

I don't think you would want the NMT truck I mentioned. Denali has Kalypso's in there trucks, but for the right price and enough shows they probably would work with you. The question is how much pull do you have and will your clients be willing to pay any extra costs to do a switcher swap? Only you know those answers. The $64,000 question you might be asked is "will the people at home see a difference?" or "will the producer or director see anything different or better?" I don't know if your shows are getting hit with budget cuts or reviews, but in the local sports world $$ is tight now.

I just did my annual Grammy Red carpet show on a grass valley, but I use a sony switcher daily. I'd love to start using sony trucks so I can pre-build at home before I travel to where ever. If the prices are right, I'd start booking them for all my award season specials.

NMT had a truck with an 8000 in the Bay area, until recently. Not sure where that truck is now. NEP has a few trucks with 8000's however they have specific contracts, NFL and other things, but they might be free when you need them. (Unless you are looking for a long term deal.) All Mobile Video, out of NY has Sony's. They do mostly entertainment. I think they have a CA office. Most truck companies will put anything you ask for into a truck, as long as the numbers make sense. HD or SD? One time show or a long time commitment?
