Hello !

I've walked the other day in a control room with a MVS-8000A, and the shotbox was physically beside the ME1 transition panel. I'm wondering if it's possible to move the shotbox beside ME4, and if yes, is it something difficult to do ?

Thanks !

It's not a problem at all. As long as you're replacing a module with one of a similar size, there's no issue with swapping modules. I've seen a number of installations that have the multi-function module next to M/E 4. To change them out, 1st turn off the panel power (although I have done hot-swaps, it's not recommended); pull up the rubber strips from in-between the modules that you want to change out. You will see 4 screws on each side of the module - only 2 on each side actually attach to that module - the other 2 attach the adjoing module...it's pretty easy to see which screws attach what module. Undo the 2 appropriate screws on each side of the module & lift it out. Replace it with the module that you want, making sure to line up the multi-pin connectors. Re-tighten the screws & replace the rubber dividers. Turn on the panel power & you should be good to go.
