Has anyone used GPIs with Duet HyperX & Lyric? I can't find any information on how to configure the GPI functions. We are looking for a way to trigger an animation from "Prompt to Play".

Thanks,

Seth Madway

We have been able to trigger a Global GPI. We can't find a way to play an animation that is waiting for a response from the "Prompt to Play". We believe the answer is to have the Global GPI run a macro, but we haven't been able to create the proper macro.

I have used the GPI as Steve mentioned, but wanted to add that you need to do that procedure anytime you reboot the Duet. You may want to also look up the wiring diagram as I know we had some trouble getting the right pin position.

Hey Seth, I'm on Lyric 5.24 build 779. Reading the Lyric online help file, it appears that you go to the first go to the CONFIG -> DUET HARDWARE -> GIPs menu to configure the physical GPI. Then, go to theCONFIG -> GLOBAL GPIs menu; here you double-click the entry for the GPI that you want to trigger, then select a file to assign to that GPI. This file will now open when the GPI is tripped. It sounds like you've already figured out AUTO PLAY ON READ or PROMPT TO PLAY functions. I'm not sure if there are any different procedures for different Duet hardware platforms. One important note I see in the manual is this: after parameters are set, Lyric must be closed and relaunched in order to apply GPI settings. I've never tried this myself, but I hope it works for you. Good luck! -Steve
