When I try to load my memory stick, The HDD directory files disappear when I go back to acces them. Furthermore my memory stick is not detected by the switcher. When we reset the switcher via the system control unit, everything reappears plus my memory stick is now detected by the switcher.

Is there another way to "refresh" whatever connectivty is lost without resetting the system control unit.

The switcher is an 8000G and I'm pulling files off of a Sony 2Gig memory stick.

Thanks,
Dave

By the way...I want to thank those who provided me with the necessary info on how to transfer homebuilt
effects (animations) into the switcher. The whole deal is really working out great!

For those of you who try the reload usb option, make sure you remove your memory stick, USB key, etc before doing so. - Dave

Thanks Rick. One other question: Where does the switcher try to retrieve the USB driver from? Thanks for info. Dave

If you go to menu # 7317 then press the REFRESH button, it'll usually show your card. Remember, though, that sometimes you might have to scroll down the list to find the card. If you turn on AUTO DETECT, it will usually find it on its own. If it doesn't just hit the REFRESH button and when you find it, be sure to hit SET PRIMARY. Only one item can be "Memory Card" at a time. Lastly, every once in a while the Linux system can go stupid. There is a button called RELOAD USB DRIVER. Instead of shutting down the whole panel, try pressing that then repeating the above. That'll usually fix it without having to resort to a full frontal labotamy. RE
