Hi All

Having to plan a show on a QMD-X 4ME system, will I be able to set up dedicated clean feeds? I remember using a Synergy panel on a SD Ross sytem and the clean feeds were fairly limted. Has this changed on QMD-X?

Thanks

Hi Sebastien, Yep there is 1 per MLE. Go into the outputs Menu and then on a physical output you can select the cleanfeed of the MLE that you would like. If you just select the one labeled Cleanfeed it will mirror the highest MLE in the frame. I found this out the exact same way as you by trying to rip my hair out figuring this out. The other alternate use is to assign the MLE Clean feeds to crosspoints and then just select the crosspoint on an Auxbus to feed it out of the switcher or to be able to select it on an AuxKey if you are looking to layer one on the cleanfeed. Even on the MD-X frame, we are suppose to be able to get one clean feed per ME ? I'll have to give it a look, I was sure that it was only one output, like with the synergy, that would make my life so much easier !

This is in the QMD or the QMD-X Chassis with the 4 keyer Video Processor cards. The older MD or MD-X chassis had the 2 keyer cards. They had only 1 Cleanfeed per MLE but otherwise they all run the same software and have the same abilities as above. The "bus Linking" was added in version 9.

The QMD/X line has 2 Clean feeds per MLE. You can define them individually as you please. Then for the physical outputs you then select which MLE Cleanfeed you would like (just like assigning the MLE PGM or PV). The Bus Link does have a Substitution ability but it is not a source table so to speak. You need to copy your bus map to an empty slot (there are 16 of them in total per setup). The you perform the "substitution" by assigning the substitute source to the same crosspoint. You can now assign this bus map to the Bus or Buses that you want this map on. You can even have the "Master" M/E Echo to Multiple destination MLEs or Buses.

From my knowledge, there is only one clean ouput, and you decide which ME goes in. There is a bus link feature, I've never use... I know it's a straight bus link, no substitution table, but if it's working like the others brands, I guess that would work ? I'll give it a try I just tried it, yes it does work... it's all cut... depend on what you want to accomplish...

Hi Sebastien Thanks for your comprehensive answer. I presume that if I want another clean feed from ME3 I would follow the same logic? My only concern is if I get asked for a clean feed from PP too ( PGM minus the telestrator) ? Thanks Gary

The clean feed is still only one output, and you select which ME you want, I?ve done a sports show the other day where house requested a clean feed. I was able to provided it, but it?s not as clean and as easy to do as with a Kalypso or a Sony. Here how I?ve done it, - Set Clean Feed output in installation menu to be ME3 before K1/2 and I re-entry it to a BNC Input - Put this Input in the background of AuxKey4 - Put GlobalStore in K1, I usualy put a flare to replay for my clean feed - I done my entire show in ME3, replay and game, In ME3 K1 was Font 1 K2 was Bug I used Program/Preset only for keyers K1 was Font 2 K2 was Branding (MLE Store) K3 was FastFoward K4 was Telestrator Custom for Replay IN Cue Flare in GlobalStore 1 Cue my FastFoward --Pause-- Put DSK3 (K3) to ON Play FastFoward Play GlobalStore1 Trans K1 in AuxKey 4 --Pause-- Put ME2 in ME3 Preset Put ME3 K1 to OFF Put ME3 K2 to OFF Cut ME3 Put PP K2 to ON --Pause-- Trans K1 in AuxKey4 --Pause-- Put DSK3 (K3) to OFF Custom for Replay OUT Cue Flare in GlobalStore 1 Cue my FastFoward --Pause-- Put DSK3 (K3) to ON Play FastFoward Play GlobalStore1 Trans K1 in AuxKey 4 --Pause-- Put PP K2 to OFF Cut ME3 --Pause-- Trans K1 in AuxKey4 --Pause-- Put DSK3 (K3) to OFF Now AuxKey 4 is my clean feed, once it setup, it is working great
