Question for any Ross Synergy experts out there.  I was on a Synergy 2 earlier today (interesting switcher to say the least) and I have some DVE related questions.  Is the "Fly Key" button essentially the same as what they refer to as a "Squeeze & Tease"?  Also, I saw you could basically create a S&T effects timeline where you could insert keyframes and put moves on S&T stuff.  How many sequences can you save and how would you recall/run them? Thanks in advance!-Allan

Allan ... I'm far from an expert, but get to punch on a Synergy 2 about 10 times a year, so I can at least try to help. The difference between Fly Key and S&T Wipes ... well, you need Fly Key enabled to build a S&T Wipe.  After that, it seems that the best way (in my mind) to describe the difference between the two is to liken them to the difference between using a resizer and a DME keyframe effect on the Sony.  In this case, fly key settings are e-mem-able, but any movement needs to be learned into a S&T sequence timeline.  Does that make sense? As far as creating your own S&T wipes, start at the S&T 3D main menu, and hit the soft-button for sequence along the bottom.  You should see a timeline with various options to load, save, insert, and step through keyframes.  Along the right side of the display, look for path and time controls to be controlled by the soft-knobs.  As far as executing your own S&T wipe, you do that by selecting the DISS, WIPE and DVE SEND buttons in your transition control block of an MLE.  You can also change the transition rate by going up to the memory display window and selecting MLE RATE and entering a new frame rate. There is a separate manual for the 3D S&T option, which also covers the internal still store ... I have the PDF if you are interested. Hope that helps,Matt
