How do I get a clip to recall with trimmed in and out points? I am trying to get a transition clip to load on FM1&2 (region is User 4); after trimming the in and out, I have tried to save as a SS and/or an effect with no luck..the FM recalls with a still as opposed to the clip..not sure what I am doing incorrectly...thanks to all..

Bill, don't know if you read my reply up top, but I have another problem; built 2 different SS with 2 different clips that work fine;when I attempt a third different SS for a 3rd clip, I get as far as getting the clips trimmed, but on page 6321.2,the "SET"button doesn't xfer the info from the right "Current" pane to the left "User 4" pane;the register window # on screen right is the same as the register # next to the "User 4" left pane...I'm doing the exact same procedure I did for the first 2 clip SS's, but am stumped...thanks for any ideas..MM
EDIT, the next day..
What a dope...realized later that I need to store the SS with the clip loaded, then set the attributes  I wanted ...forgot there must be some data in the SnapShot to giver attributes to...sorry about the rambling post, but I think I finally got it straight...

Bill and Brian, thanks so much;I didn't get to the part concerning the SS attributes (6321.2); once I was there, everything fell into place i...the clip was captured via FM! & 2 from VIZ, I could see the sub and it was correctly named to answer a few ?'s....Bill you gave me the final puzzle piece with the pointer to the clip attribute page...I then made a macro to set the keyer to FM1,call up the Clip SS, run the clip, under cut the source, and change the keyer Xpoint and trans rate back to "normal"...thanks so much for your quick responses, today will be much less of a headache day.....Marc

In the Clips folder, can you see your clip? How was this captured... live through the board via FMS1 and FMS2? Or was it imported as a series of stills? The naming convention for clips is four alpha characters followed by four numerals.
Can you see the sub-frame on your clip? Generally, the clip name followed by (s) to indicate sub-frame.
In FM 2, you should see the key or cut which would be the sub-frame.
If there is no corresponding sub-frame, then you will not be able to store as a clip. It will only show as a series of stills.
How long is the transistion clip that you are working with?

You have to do it as a snapshot or macro.  As a snapshot (not in front of board).   Go to the snapshot menu, attribute for that region (user 4).   dial in snap number on right side of menu.
Clip trans or somehting like that in menu, then select FM channel one at a time and from right screen you will see current clip loaded, then hit button to move it to current (make sure snap shot number is on the right side in the menu as well), store that snap and do same for other FM channel if a pair.  This is cumbersome but should remember inpoint.   You could also delete any extra stills in the clip you are not using (unless on 2nd FM board).
Macro, offline macro, near bottom says FM clip or something, select FM channel, single or pair, then type in clip name.   This will not cue to an inpoint (sony this should be an option in the macro here to cue to an inpoint).   Do another event and go to cue, and select FM channel and type in timecode.   I have found that this occasionally does not cue to timecode all the time, I have found a delay of 10 frames or less seems to help.
Let me know if this makes some sense once you sit down in front of the switcher.
