Just a little confused about how many channels of iDPM's (TE) you get. I've heard only 2 per ME? I haven't worked on the switcher yet but I'm sure I'll see it this spring.- Does it save and load "show" files like the Kalypso? - I didnt see any "get eff" and "put eff" (copy) master Emem's in the emem edit mode? Thanks.
Rick, I don't have this problem...perhaps a setting on the PBus page. When I copy to a new register, the corresponding cue is correctly called up. Take care.
Thanks Paul.... I'll have to look at it the next time I'm on the switcher. Also, I'll check my settings on my computer Menu on PC in Parallels. Hope all is well. Mike, Hope all is good with you too.
Rick, in regards to MACROS, unless there has been a software update recently, we found an inconsistency with MACROS. If you use a MACRO to cut on or off a keyer, the software remembers the state of the keyer. If you use a mix a key on, then the switcher doesn't remember the state of the keyer. On the panel, if you use say ME3 key 1 cut, the state is remembered, if you use the mix button, state is not remembered. I showed Ed Collins that one.
Mike, I like that the macro remembers the keyer state...really helps in situations in which the ME where the keyer resides is not part of a timeline. This way you KNOW the keyer will be on or off, not just flip flopping. Just need two macros - keyer on, keyer off. Perhaps an option to run the board either way...
Good idea Paul.... it may be time to re-think and use the additional macro!!
You can buy up to 16 floating iDPM channels per swirtcher and keyers 1-4 on each full ME can have them assigned. Keyers 5 & 6 can't have a iDPM assigned to them. The same goes for ME 50, as Grass calls it, the 1/2ME. MTVG 25 has four total and they split them 2 and 2 for primary and split feed. (At least that is what I was told.) I haven't seen the panel since early November, so I don't know where the "GET" and "PUT" are but they were at least available on the touch screen.
when I worked on the Keyanne a few months ago it was running kalypso software. I believe the number of DPM's depends on the software version installed, I think you can have up to 16 available. While I am not exactly sure how may iDPM's i had available on the system I was on, I recall I did have one effect on and ME with 4 dpms used.
Yes it did contain a show file like the kalpyso, in fact you can run the entire switcher just like a kalypso. There are a few minor differences but nothing major.
I know there is a put and get ijn the register ops menu. I don't recall if there is a hard button on the panel.

No hard buttons for "Get" and Put" all software driven. Also once you copy a timeline you will need to relearn the PBus register number for te specific timeline. In this regard it works like a Sony and the Kayak. IF Grass Valley is listening this slows down programming and while I see some good uses for it, it should be left up to the operator whether it should be active. It just more steps to go through when you are copying things on the fly. Also if you haven't noticed, the macros remember a "state" of a Key button and whether it is on or off!
