Effect Run Control

I have an effect loaded;I would like to use the fader bar in the Keyframe Contol Panel to step through each KF;when I hit"Run Control" in the Device CTL Block, the fader lights remain in the "not sure where I am condition"'... I can rewind and run, step through by hitting Next KF and Previous KF, but cannot proceed through the effect KF by KF by pulling the fader bar...any thoughts as to what I am doing incorrectly? Again, many thanks
Bob, that didn't work for me either(7.21 software);I have tried all combinations I can think of with no luck; hitting the "Run" button will always give the effect, but the "sync lights" remain "parted" and I can't pull the lever to run the effect;"Next KF" works, but I can't see what is happening between KF's...the Touchscreen always shows the effect loaded and shows any effect advancing thru KF's...if I reset the entire system, I will have to reload Frame Memory's correct? That re-set seems to be my last gasp as the DME re-set did not help...thanks for all ideas..MM
If you haven't tried a reboot I would try that for sure. I would start with the SCU first. FM won't go away. Full frame reboot you will lose FM. I can't imagine that will not fix problem.
Yes, either a hard reboot of the SCU, or a soft reboot might help. To do a soft reboot, use menu page 9999; then use the REBOOT PANEL button. Just beware that page 9999 has some functions that could ruin your day, such as a button to reformat the hard drive. Still, I find it to be the quickest way to reboot the menu & panel.

Not sure if this would matterm is edit enable lit?
Yes, Bill, edit enable is lit....sigh again.....
Have you tried flopping the KF fader bar down and back up? You might just need to do that to clear the 'non-sync' LEDs (the 'not sure where I am' condition) and get the fader bar's attention. Aside from that, I'm not sure what to suggest. I don't believe that we have the menu settings to enable/disable the fader bar as we could on the old DVS-8000 (circa 1992).
Yes, Matt, thanks, I've tried that; tried re-settting the DME"s (page 7315) to no avail; it seems not to matter what effect is loaded, it's the same no-go on all of them...sigh...

I tested this on my switcher (running 7.11 software). I found that under normal curcumstances, pulling the lever arm or hitting RUN will cause the effect to run through keyframes from one pause to another. If the STOP NEXT KF button is lit, then pulling the lever arm or hitting run will cause the effect to only run to the next KF. So the system works properly in 7.11 - it may be different (broken) in newer versions, but the STOP NEXT KF button should solve your problem.
