The issue is as follows:

-FMs when captured display with blank thumbnails in the frame memory recall menu (pg2111). They can be recalled and seen via the XPTs though.

-Unable to load FMs from the HDD…. Transfer times out and message is displayed “server not responding” pg9900

-After a full reboot the switcher acts normal; allows loading of setup and FMs… but then becomes “buggy” after 1-2 hours.

This problem has also started to appear on a DVS-9000.

Has anyone had these issues?? and if so what is a possible resolution.

Much Appreciated

(MVS-8000 running Ver 5.4 Software)

Agree w/ Si..Fm's have to cache after a setup load etc...so the more you have the longer the "red light of death" stays on on the upper left.  When the light goes off, thumbnails should be done.   For me it takes the better part of 30 min or so.

A few thoughts...if you reboot the switcher, and don't load your frames, does FM become buggy?  I would try doing this...reboot, and don't load, then freeze off some new frames.  See if the problem comes back.  If not, then maybe it is w/ your backup of FM's, or something is getting wacky in the transfer. .

Regarding the thumbnails, the desk will try and 'refresh' the thumbnails of all FMs so if you went for a coffee and came back, they usually would have appearred, and if there are lots of FMs in the desk, it'll take longer.

Not had the other issues tho which seem more disturbing!
