Kayak HD300: DD Mode vs GVG Mode

So I took a gig about a month ago and found out last night that it's going to be on a Kayak....this one more specifically....19HDX-S (a BTN truck)
My question is...the website says that the switcher can be changed from DD mode to GVG mode. Can someone tell me what that means? I've never seen a kayak and the guy doing the same show the day before is going to leave me some notes and leave it set up for me so that all i have to do is "push buttons". He said that he runs it in DD mode, however if by changing it from DD mode to GVG mode will make it funtion like a Kalypso or Kayenne then I will stop worrying.
One other question that I've been meaning to ask...does anyone know the numberic value for taking an anomorphic image to 4x3? And my verbage may be wrong. Here's was the instance....doing a side-by-side with another feed....they were shooting 16x9 but sending it out squished and letting MC fix it....we took a couple of cameras from them and neither truck had converters. I had to DVE the cameras to make them "correct"....just didn't know the numeric value to fix it so we just eyeballed it.
Hi Tyler.
The GV/DD mode switches are in 2 sections; the keyers and the EMEMs. The keyers section changes to name and operate the keyers in a classic Gv way while the EMEM switch alters the editing methods to allow insert before/insert after and defaults the recall style to the instant recall which classic Gv uses. There is a real gotcha that says that effects made in one mode won't work in the other so it is quite common to see keyers in Gv mode and EMEM in DD mode. I would certainly suggest that whichever way the show has been working before is the way you leave it. It won't play back like the other TD made it in the wrong mode.
For your second question you need to think of 4x3 as being 12x9 then you can see that if you want to stretch the horizontal out to be 16 you need to use an X size of 1.3333.
Hope it helps,
John
