Hey... who knows the Kayak very well?  I've never even seen the thing.

A couple questions..

Can it do macro attachments?
Can it load/run internal clip store elements from a timeline, triggered by a macro?
Can I run a macro within a timeline?
Does it have the ability to do video proc controls?  (Specifically with keys.)

I've read on online forums that a clean feed is a pain in the ass? Whats the story with that?

Anything else you can tell me? Good and or bad?

Thanks!

Thanks for the info guys.  I'm a lot more confident that it will fit my needs.

A clean feed is much easier with the latest software. The new software looks a lot like the Kayenne software.

The 4 ME panel should only have three physical ME's and there is a button to swap control to the 4th ME.

BTW, the internal clip store has a limited capacity unless the upgraded memory was bought. Remember, the internal still/clip store is RAM based. SAVE your stills and clips to the the side panel computer.

Hello!

Can it do macro attachments?

Yes, hold down the button of the macro you want to attach and simulatneously press the button you want to attach it to.

Can it load/run internal clip store elements from a timeline, triggered by a macro?

Yep.  Make a keyframe with all settings (clips, timecode etc) and with the RAM recorders you want to use. Then insert "EVENT" to trigger a play. You can make a macro that recalls the timeline and runs it.

Can I run a macro within a timeline?

Yes. Just insert the macro into the timeline. (it's called insert trigger)

Does it have the ability to do video proc controls?  (Specifically with keys.)

None at the keys but it has videoproc controls for inputs , AUX's and M/Es.

I've read on online forums that a clean feed is a pain in the ass? Whats the story with that?

You have four outputs per M/E. You can assign say KEY1 and KEY2 for output one and KEY2 and KE4 for output two and so on.

Anything else you can tell me? Good and or bad?

It lacks Double Take and the internal DVE's are not floating. Grass Valley could easily make all features available for the Kayenne available for the KAYAK since it's the same frame...
