8000 V7.2 XPT Question

Hi...
I'm currenyly working on a MVS8000 with Vers 7.2 software.
I have an issue when I route into my switcher inputs the source name follows what's routed.
Example: switcher primary input 31 labeled as "STU_1"... when routing "RCV_35" into that destination the XPT name follows and the XPT displays RCV35.
I've been looking through the ENG Setup_Router/Tally_Router (pg 7361) and similar menus but unable to find anything regarding dynamic/static source names
any help is much appreciated.

Hi Matt,
Thanks so much for your reply. I have checked pg7326 and the "Sw'er Local" is selected.
This is why I'm alittle stumped... any other ideas on how this information could be getting thru??

When was the last reboot of the switcher?
Have yopu tried cycling that menu on and off? pg 7326. Perhaps a false reading?
What happens if you load a different swictehr config/file?
Hi Mike,
Yes I've preformed a full reboot with function on/off. No change.
I spoke with a gentleman from Sony yesterday and he informed me that we are currently using a Image Video tally & UMD system (TSi1000). The switcher is connected via serial bus and the renaming issue is not able to be resolved via the switcher. It must be done through the Image Video software. The engineers are looking into... but there's little information on the software.... ... Until then it's a crazy workaround of renaming XPTs during a live show of 2-4 remotes and corresponding delays.... Any information on how to disable via the software is my new quest.......
-cheers for your input
It is the image video...we had it here also, then turned it off. I confirmed w/ the intergrator who set up the factility, and they thought it was image video.
I had never seen it, and it was odd how it just "forced" it's way in.
I will look and see if I can find where it is in the tally system console for image video. I seem to rememeber coming across it.
In the meantime, you can temp rename in the image video system before your show. Your names are most likely in the I/O and signals tab...Source definitions sub tab. Look to see where you see the names you are translating and you can change there. One word of caution. If this text shows up other places, ( such as on your montor wall so people can see what is routed where) you will be changing that name also most likely. Be sure to save the file in the tally system console before starting incase you need to revert back.
I would also call Image Video...they are EXCELLENT as far as tech support.

Thanks heaps Curt...
I'll look into the workaround. Anything you find on the tally system console would be greatly appreciated.
I'm going thru the manual now....

I'm talking with Dan Russel @ Image video Monday. See if he can walk us through it. Meanwhile Dave wants Karl and I to upgrade the 8000. If you want to get in on it, we'll be doing it early a.m. Tues or Wed. LMK

Copy that.. see you there.

Glenn,
Sounds to me like your switcher is taking the source description from the router via S-BUS. If you go to page 7326 (Engineering > Panel > Operation), you'll see a section that says "Source/Dest Name". You'll probably find "S-BUS Descript" enabled, so see if switching to "Sw'er Local" gets you taken care of...
