I'm having trouble tracking down where the settings are stored for the M/E outputs on Page 7331.

When we're in Standard mode, P/P Out3 is set to CLEAN. In MP2, this gets set to PGM3. I want to change the MP2 status for P/P Out3 to be CLEAN, but no matter what I change, once I toggle between Standard and MP2, the settings always default back. My goal is to have P/P Out3 to be CLEAN in MP2 and I can't get it to stick.

Is this a burned-in setting? I'm not changing between modes with menu macros; I'm doing it right in the M/E Config.

Everytime you manually change a M/E Config to "Multi PGM 2", out 3 is going to change to PGM 3.  There's no way I know of to avoid it.  Just know that whenever you manually change the M/E config, you're going to have to go in and always change out 3 back to "Clean".

Are you operating with "Recal M/E Config" enabled?  It's found in the same menu you change the M/E config (ENG Setup/Switcher/Config).  If so, there is somewhat of a workaround.

One thing you could do is create 3 snapshots in every M/E.  Set the M/E up in a way that's a good starting point.  Maybe XPT holds on the PGM and PVW bus's, all keyers set to some sort of default state (in my case, all keyers off, viz engines on keys 1, 2 and 3 and my GFX playout device I use for transitions on key 4), everything set to a linear key with the key source set to auto select, and no masks or resizers turned on, and all auto trans rates set to what you're used to working with.  With "Recall M/E Config" enabled, change the M/E config to "Standard" and save a snapshot.  Then change the M/E config to "Multi PGM", make sure your M/E outputs are set correctly, and save a 2nd snapshot.  Then change the M/E config to "Multi PGM 2", make sure your M/E outputs are set correctly and save a 3rd snapshot.

Or you could create one menu macro for each M/E that changes the M/E config to "Multi PGM 2" and puts "Clean" on out 3.  If that output is going anywhere, it'll briefly flash to PGM 3 and then back to the clean feed but that's another workaround.

This is what I've been doing. I normally fire off a menu macro to put the switcher into MP2, so I added a final command that manually sets the Clean on P/P Out3. We only have one show that utilizes MP2.

I need to key Clean P/P back over itself. Engineering is reluctant to patch us up a loop back into the frame, so I need to use Out3, which feeds an in-house router point already in the board, to be clean.... which it is in Standard, but not in MP2, hence the solution above. I can't use MP2 Out6. That's a clean source, but our MP2 se-tup feeds the web and replaces any playback source with a graphic due to broadcast permissions.

I saw the other thread on this board that touched on this kind of re-entry. Right now, I don't think we can go with the AUX route, and I am trying to stay as close to an outgoing effect as I can (new graphics pkg), so I think the menu macro override is the way to go.

In menu 7331, if you set the RECALL M/E Config button to ON, then the various conditions of MP2 & the outputs become snapshot-able and keyframable and the config thus is controlled at the M/E level.  If you don't have this button set to ON, then the config lives in the ENG setups and turning on MP2 will cause the default settings to be recalled.
