Dave, that is not what "Independent Run" does. It works in Master Emems, so that the TL's are completely independent of each other. So when there's a Pause on KF 3 in ME2 after 1 sec, ME3 will continue till it reaches a Pause, or the end of it's timeline. Currently, all timelines will pause when there is a single Pause in any component of the Master Timeline. Used with Auto Run on, you can have an effect start in ME2, while ME3 is parked (with a Pause at the head of the effect) waiting the Run button to be hit. Basically, the entire Master effect currently runs straight across. With Independent Run, each TL in the Master effect runs on it's own time. The 3/4000 worked this way (only when Auto Run was on). Does that explain it? This is a GREAT feature on the 4000, it would be very hard for me to do some of the stuff I do on a 4000 without this feature. I've been waiting a LONG time for it to be implemented into the Kalypso. The button is there... labeled... but then so are a lot of others. --- Dan

Dave B, this also works on the little Zodiak and has for some time (I think since V.3?) It would be so nice for Kalypso to have the kind of local EMEM control the XTenDD offers without having to do creative EMEM delegation (like delegating a pair of Still Store channels to recall with an M/E so get more local EMEM control.) Interestingly enough: In my current show I have built timelines on m/e 1 that I am able to run independently of the master timeline by using the RUN key above the m/e emem keypad. I wasn't expecting it to work - I just tried it and it works! Of course the first time I try to actually use it on air it will probably crash, but it has worked every time I faxed it. Of course if this is not what you mean by "independent run" then I'll just go back to the bar and get another beer. Anyone thirsty? (btw: running v 11.1.1)

Sorry, but Independent Run isn't scheduled for this release. Don't know when it's going to be ready.

I've been looking at the "Independent Run" button on the Kalypso since I 1st started using one over 3 years ago & wondering when I would be able to use it... will it finally be implemented in V 12? The 3/4000 used the feature, & it was great (although it was attached to Auto Run, which I usually use anyway).
