I am looking to trigger a sound effect from my audio guys mini disk player for a wipe. Would this be done through pbus or external device control? How do I go about setting this up?

Thanks

Lash, you will need to do some research to find out how the mini disk is hooked up to the switcher. The only way I?ve ever seen a mini disk hooked up to a switcher is by GPIs. Mini disks don?t speak the same language that switchers do, so P-Bus or external device control will not work. GPI?s are the most basic of commands that a switcher can send out to external devices. When you trigger the GPI in your time line it will close a contact that will trigger the play button on the mini disk. I?m not sure how you then get the mini disk to recue. Possibly there can be another GPI to make it recue, or you maybe you can make the mini disk recue when it gets to the end of the sound effect. I?m not familiar with the specific operations on a mini disk. Good Luck
