Is anyone having problems with underdissolves after modifying a timeline on the 1 ME panel?

When I build my timelines and modify the duration, I run the effect my bkgd toggles for 1 video frame...without being delegated to toggle! When that happens, no amount of deleting Key Frames and modifications can get rid of the problem. I have to trash the whole timeline and start over which is a giant waste of time. It seems to me that it's a software glitch. I've heard other people have had problems on this particular truck with the same thing. I was wondering if this is a common problem with the 1 ME panel.

Any thoughts or ways around it?

The inheirent problem exists because when you do a Learn or Mod, the switcher takes a snapshot of the current work buffer condition...even if source holds are on. In theory, when the source holds are on, the crosspoint information for that bus(es) should be ignored. It isn't. And as Mike states, that's why the switcher gets confused. The traditional workaround is to (a) turn off source holds, (b) make your changes, (c) test that your changes work the way that you want them to, and (d) turn source holds back on.

Bill, I have read posts here from Master Bob about this. I don't know if it is a bug if it exists on the 3k, 4k and Kalypso. Sounds like a decision by a programmer at GVG back when the 3k software was being developed. If you think about it, it is logical. The switcher gets confused as to which bus you are on because the source hold is ON. I don't like it and I wish I didn't have to remember WHERE and WHEN the modification took place.

[quote="Jaime Wehner"]That was a great idea Mike. I had no problems with the mysterious underdissolve until I tried to add a keyframe after I went through and turned on the source holds. Have to build timelines then later add the source holds. Bill

Are you using source holds? If so, try building the timeline without them and then after the timleine works, add the source holds.

I've had similar issues on a full 4ME switcher (I believe in ME1). I turned off Auto Run, and ran in "Normal" ME mode as opposed to "300" ME mode, and that worked. Of course I'd rather not run the switcher this way, but it's the only way I could get it to work. I've only been on a 1 ME Kalypso once, and most stuff was set up for me already. --- Dan
