Hello Rick !! And then this 4 channels more are external hardware. But if I want work with them it's possible use the buttons for DME 5 to 8 that are in the mixer? Have the same limitations to use in a M/E, 3 in combiner, 2 in separate mode? And to selection the inputs it's by auxiliaries of mixer, the same I have now? If I have a DVS 9000 to put this 4 channels more I must buy this additional hardware. Have more things this hardware? Thank you Enric
Even on the MVS-8000, the DMEs are, technically, external hardware - menaing they live in a separate box than the switcher. But they still ACT as internal. On the DVS-9000, attaching an extra DME unit, they will function JUST LIKE the internal DMEs with a couple of exceptions: 1. Since it has an SDI In and Out card, it will take 8 inputs off the switcher and 8 outputs to feed the external DME box (4 Video 4 Key for each in/out) 2. In addition to all the "internal DME" workings (attaching to keyer, *4* combiner and 2 separate, the external DMEs also show up as inputs so you can key them. 3. They will have individual monitor outputs for each channel (just ike the built-in) Enric, I'm not sure how old your software is on your DVS-9000, but you mentioned only being able to have 3 channels on a keyer/combiner. This has not been the case clear back to v4, which is like a year and half old. V4 lets you have 4 channels on a single keyer. I would recommend contacting Sony for a software upgrade. RE

Thank you, Enric
Enric, First the good news.... yes you can have 8 channels of DME on a DVS-9000. Now the "bad" news.... you can't just add another 4ch DME board to the 9000. You would have to purchse an MVE-8000A or a MVE-9000 chassis with option channel boards, then wire it into the switcher to use externally. The better side of this is that when you wire it in, you can still attach the channels to keyers, use DME wipes etc. It will be transparent to the user. Not so good news is that these DMEs are the same ones used with the MVS. So they are HD/SD boxes and you'll pay for that. But the answer to your question is YES, you can add more than 4 channels to a DVS-9000 RE
