Everything went well... Matt Thanks for the help, I used your style for the setup with a few minor differences. The producer wanted the score/clock on everything except replay and graphic fullscreens so i actually cut the entire show on ME2 using A/B buss. ME 1 was my replay machine dissolves and CHY over disk animation for stats/lineups etc. PP was the transition between game and replay, also going to break (we did run a spotreel, that was a PIA) and coming back with LL bug score. We had 4 cams and 4 replay machines/money machine, and a fast forword with lance control. I did run into a few minor problems. I was originally only to TD the show and ended up calling it also.(I am working on getting more $ for this). The producer/client forgot the replay transition so we had to build one on site, it was sponsored so it needed a logo. I did that downstream but I had to burn two keyers (logo from internal ss, animation from FF). That is how I found out, no TE's on the DSK's, but I managed. The only other thing I had to get used to was source selection on PP when running timelines. Since I normally work on a Kalypso this took a little getting familiar with. I assumed that is how the zodiac works and just worked around it. Once again thanks for the help greg
When you say you'd emem everything would you cut your camera with emem? Does the zodiac have macros similar to the kalypso?
Hi Greg! That is exactly what I would do...by cutting cameras with your e-mems, you really don't have to break your wrists getting to "camera 1 with font and clock" then "take 5 clean". You've thought about it already, and all of your emems are doing the work for you! I've been in situations where they might want the score bug and clock only over the game camera, which simplifies matters greatly... As far as the Zodiak macros, I understand that they are the same as on the Kalypso. The biggest difference is that some of the push-button operations on the Kalypso are menu operations on the Zodiak (specifically GET EFF and PUT EFF)...which is completely understandable, given the difference in panel size. Its been a while since I've been on a Zodiak...sorry I can't be more of a help. Break a leg! Matt
I'd probably e-mem everything, too...bank 0 could be clean, bank 1 could be with clock, whatever you decide.
Matt, When you say you'd emem everything would you cut your camera with emem? I never really thought of it that way but it sounds great. Does the zodiac have macros similar to the kalypso? thanks for the input

Hi Greg! Sounds like a good place to jump in...doesn't sound like they'll throw too much at you. You are already in a good place since you know the Kalypso, but I think I'd switch almost like I was on an old 250. Here's how I think I'd set-up the show (although, I'm really interested to hear how the other guys would do it, too): I'd switch the show on ME2...with 4 keyers (and really only 3 regular sources to key), you should be all set. Maybe Key 1 for Font 1, Key 2 for Font 2, Key 3 for the game clock camera, and Key 4 for the play clock (if you don't have any artwork to go with it). I'd probably e-mem everything, too...bank 0 could be clean, bank 1 could be with clock, whatever you decide. ME1 could be set-up for your replay machines (dissolve) and bug from your internal SS (if you have one). You could also use this ME for any split-screens or double box effects they may want. As far as your replay goes, I'd downstream the disk effect and just have PGM/PVW undercut as the effect keys. Hope that helps. Let us know what you decided to do, and how it went! See ya... Matt

It is a 2.5 ME zodiac, not sure of any internal TE however the truck does not have an external so I would venture to say there are at least some sort of internal TE's. Internal still store is probably the minimum. I will have four cameras to work with possibly a 5th (locked down) for graphics overlay. There will be a disk transition effect of some sort for replay. I think it is a fast forword. As of right now we have a single channel chyron but that may be upgraded to a duel channel (the bug may come from the second channel, this will include a clock cam). No tele.. Two replay machine's and a spot reel to roll in. It is airing in a small market wo it is a good chance to get my feet wet. I do work on a fully loaded kalypso on a normal basis so I am already familiar with the board in some sense. I've already spoke with the producer and he seems pretty cool with everything. thanks for the help greg
Just wanted to know how everyone out there would do football on a zodiac? (board setup)
Which Zodiak will you have? 2.5 ME, or full 3 ME? Any internal TEs or external DVEs? Matt

OK, I'll bite. Greg, what resources will you have? A couple channels of graphics? A scorebox? How about a DDR? I may be able to help get you going but I need to know what you'll have to play with. j
