I have the opportunity to pick up some games on the 7000. How similar is it to the 8000 or kalypso. I"ve only heard that this is a bear of a switcher to run. Can anyone give me some pointers on this switcher?

The switcher has the same ideas as the 8000. It doesn't have macros, though. One thing to watch out for is the machine is slow. It takes about one to two seconds to load an effect. Especially if you have pauses on the timeline...if you run the effect without waiting for it to fully load, it will blow past the pause. The menu system is different as well.
