Hello all, apologies if this has been asked before.

Does anyone know of a way to create a strobe or "time strobe" effect on a Zodiak or Kalypso? To the best of my knowledge it isn't one of the transform options.

Many thanks

Rory

The Kalypso HD and Duo have strobe in the Transform Engines as of V12.0. Kalypso Classsic does not have it at this time.

One way to "loop" in a Kalypso Timeline is to use the "SEQuence" mode of the E-Mem. You would create an E-Mem Timeline that releases a Transform Engine Freeze for a frame (in the "Transform | Picture" menu) and then freezes it again for a time - so perhaps using four keyframes. Then duplicate this E-Mem into another E-Mem by using "Put". You now have two identical Timelines. I'll assume they're E-Mem #14 and #15. You then specify the SEQuence of E-Mems by pressing [LEARN] [SEQ] [Bank 1] [4] [5] [4] [LEARN]. This says "go from 14 to 15 and back to 14". Turn on [AUTO RUN] so the Timeline will run immediately. To run the Sequence, you highlight the [SEQ] button, and press your E-Mem number, for example [Bank 1] [4]. (I'm not in front of a Kalypso at the moment, so you might also need to add a "Transition Delay" when defining the sequence. The delay would be the duration of a single E-Mem, for example perhaps 3 frames. You would program it with [LEARN] [SEQ] [TRANSition RATE] [3] [Enter] [Bank 1] [4] [TRANSition RATE] [3] [Enter] [5] [TRANSition RATE] [3] [Enter] [4] [LEARN]. The delay might be needed to allow the Timeline to run before the next E-Mem is recalled.) Another way might be to use a Macro that recalls an E-Mem Timeline, and at the end of the Timeline you trigger the original Macro to run. I think this is possible from version 11 onwards, but I haven't tried it. Let us know...
